Hej Alle.

ASUS R9-280X can be OC`ed over Toxic`s level: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] while being more silent, as Toxic is one of the most noisiest R9-280X on the market (if not the noisiest): http://www.tomshardware.dk[...] Of course GTX 770 OC ... can be also overclocked: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] #13 It doesn`t look like a tip :( - of course i might be wrong ... but you know ... when i was younger (much younger) and i was buying myself some stuff ... i was so happy about it ... ... but who wasn`t, right? ;) Young ... or happy? ;)

Peter - i have written that i might be wrong! - so ... don`t take it personally. For me tip = recommendation, of course, but 360 degrees, not only telling about what`s so amazing. Toxic out of factory - yes, nice ... due to high OC, but ... what if #0 wants to OC manually - a card with "more efficient" cooler will be better. If we are here - to help, let`s do it correctly. amphibia - will you be overclocking card? - do you want the card to be silent?

I know hardware world very well ... so you just have to live with that ... and i`m watching you :D ;) Actually everything i do in my life ... is tweaked to perfection, that`s who i am and how i act. And when i see a "one sided" recommendations - neh, it`s not how it should work here - on hardwareonline.dk - where people wants advices ... and get "one sided". But really - what if #0 really like to have a silent graphic card, he buys that Toxic - due to your recommendation ... and he gets a driller, which will be very loud (as reviews says), what then? And now - when he`s aware of that - that the card is noisy ... he can make the best choise for him. Peter - always ... the biggest jerk is the one who says that somebody is a jerk. #17 Lobber - have you seen: "Toxic out of factory - yes, nice ... due to high OC, but ... what if #0 wants to OC manually - a card with "more efficient" cooler will be better. If we are here - to help, let`s do it correctly. amphibia - will you be overclocking card? - do you want the card to be silent?" You might be right, i pay too much attention to perfectionism here, i have to put it in my mind - that people ... are only people ;) And i`ll try to be more gentle. "Why is it you jsut cant say "his vision are good but you might wona try this one"" - i`ll keep it in my mind, it`s a good one, thanks. But, you know, it`s not something that you can learn just like that ... it takes a lot of time to put it into "the blood".

#15 Thanks for the reply e-gamer.I like my build to be silent. I am not that into oc´en. I just want a solid card for a solid silent overall build. And then it is nice to have the possibility to oc in the future. Jeg har set en masse test og artikler rundt omkring på respekterede sider og jeg tror jeg har forelsket mig lidt i et ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5. Hvad siger i til det ?

ASUS`s DCU II cooler is a really great one, but ... MSI with it`s TwinFrozr IV is rocking the world lately. As you can see here: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] http://www.techpowerup.com[...] that MSI is really a nice one, and temps. are also fine: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] http://www.techpowerup.com[...] MSI has boost @ 1150MHz vs. 1110MHz ASUS`s, for the moment - i would recommend you MSI - nice clocking, very, very silent, nice OC potential: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] (they use standard voltage for OC) ... what else you want from gfx? ;) http://www.edbpriser.dk[...] - however, it might be hard to get one.

#23 Thanks for the long and informative reply. I must admit that i can see your point in all of theese things. But i have a thing with MSI, i dont know what it is. I know that this card is very popular around the hardware enthusiasts on the internet. I just like ASUS more. And as you point out for me, the MSI is hard to get. So i maybe order the ASUS :P Do i have a problem with my power supply running this 770?

G550 will be fine. GTX 770 OC under stress test (benchmark) will consume +- 230W (it`s under full load), cpu + peripherals ... if not OC`ed = +- 150W (cpu under full - 100% load ... all cores) ... so it will be +- 380W max. ... under 100% load (cpu and gfx ... and such a load will probably never happen, and if it happens - you`ll be fine with 550W PSU). Even if you OC cpu and OC gfx ... it should be fine, as you would have to add +- 70-100W, so it will be (100% load of cpu and gfx) ... +- 450-480W, you will still be fine with that 550W PSU. And that PSU can push more watts, check here: http://www.techpowerup.com[...] - they`ve tested it @ 610W and was fine. But ... during gaming ... if cpu isn`t OC`ed and gfx also ... your PC needs +- 250W (depends on load).

Then it should be fine :) Hehe ... don`t provoke me = i`m a silence ultra maniac, my PC is ultra silent and i use ... Antec case ... with custom fans ;) But generally ... it`s fans that makes the case silent / less silent / more silent ... and other components (psu, gfx, cpu cooler, hdd, ssd, dvd-rw). Do you use fan controller for R4 or you run those 140mm fans @ 12v?

That MSI GTX 770 is for you ;) Everyone`s noise perception is different, if it`s perfect for you - no need to change anything. Generally - it`s the best when all components ... just fit together with others. My all fans are Noctua NF-S12B running @ 500rpm max. (top fan @ 300rpm). What`s your cpu cooler? Do you use the lowest speed of R4 fans? Yous PSU is quite silent @ low load: http://tpucdn.com[...] while gaming - probably also hard to hear (for normal person, i wouldn`t be able to stand +-1300rpm ;) ... my max. is 800rpm, everything faster than that ... i can`t stand it - too noisy.

I have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler. It has done a brilliant job for me so far , for a low price. Right now i use the lowest speed on the fan controller on the case. I dont know if i need to change that when i get the gpu? I have thought about adding a side fan too ? is this a bad idea ?

It all depends on your temperatures, but they should be fine. Top fan on R4 will help with tempeatures ... but ... it will also make ... more noise (as the noise would be "comming out" through that hole). If your temps. are OK and you like present noise ... leave it as it is.

You`re welcome ... but you know, there`s a software that allows you to control gfx`s fan, f.e. MSI Afterburner: http://prohardver.hu[...] - you can create your own profile. @ idle - both cards will be very similar.
