Hej alle.
Jeg tillader mig lige at kopiere et opslag jeg har lavet på et andet forum. Derfor står det på engelsk. Håber i vil hjælpe alligevel :)
Hello everyone.
I'm going to move the first of november, to a place where I can get gigabit fiber. Which is pretty nice.
The company that can provide it, supplies a router, which I have heard
is pretty unreliable, so I thought I would get my own gear.
I heard good things about Ubiquiti, so I began to research their unifi solution.
My initial setup was the following:
The unifi USG:
https://www.ubnt.com[...]
2x Unifi switch:
https://www.ubnt.com[...]
An AP:
https://www.ubnt.com[...]
And the controller key.
This setup is around 5.000 DKK (or 770 USD). Prices in denmark are
higher due to VAT ^^. But the store which I found all the gear from is
here:
https://www.computersalg.dk[...] (they are pretty cheap in denmark)
Now. The house comes with 2 ethernet outlets, one on the 1st floor and
one on the second. That's not a lot, but it is what it is.
The setup would be as follows: Fiber box (has to be used) -> USG -> switch.
From the switch i will connect the two outlets. Assuming PoE works
through the outlet on the first floor, here is where I place the AP, to
get Tv, apple tv, xbox etc on wireless.
On the second floor, i will connect the other switch, and our computers will be on cable.
Then I started to read that ALOT of people are having issues with the USG and gigabit speeds. Bummer.
Furthermore, I read that a lot of routers actually have issues with gigabit internet.
Can anyone recommend a similar setup? But with a router that can
actually handle gigabit internet WAN->LAN. I wouldn't mind if it was
cheaper than 5.000 DKK
Bonus info: Each floor is 60 M^2, so 120 m^2 in total.
So 1 access point for wifi should be able to cover the entire house.
It's okay if the router supplies the wireless, it doesn't have to be a
seperate AP.
PS. Det er HIPER der kan levere internettet.
