I`ve changed XL2411T for ASUS PB248Q IPS 2 weeks ago, unfortunately haven`t been playing games since then, so i cannot say much about ghosting ... but a practical ghosting, not a theoretical one ;)
Generally ... the biggest difference is, for me ... viewing angles (IPS is much, much better), there was a lot of problems with BenQ`s vertical color quality / color changing due to your position (up and down).
I don`t see much difference in color quality (if you "sit straight"), maybe because i didn`t have a chance to compare those 2 monitors side by side.
24" vs. 27" with the same resolution ... and if you sit at the same distance ... 27" will have worse quality, it`s because the same amount of pixels will be spread on bigger surface. However it shouldn`t be a problem with 27" monitor ... if you distance to it is a big one.
120Hz one - i would recommend you this one:

- price is good and imo 27" for 1920*1080 is too much, but it also depends on the distance (eyes to matrix).
IPS - i can recommend the ASUS i`m using atm.:

it`s 1920*1200 - so few pixels more in vertical use - good for internet, as there`s more surface. It might be also advantage in some games = more vertical area.
However a smaller brother is much cheaper:

... so maybe buy that ASUS for +- 1700dkk ... you can always sell it after few monts without loosing a lot of money and then swap to 120Hz, if there`s gonna be a need. If you buy BenQ 27" for 3100dkk ... it`s gonna be harder to do it.
